The Interstellar STUDIES

bibliography

About these Data Source Pages

Welcome to the pages of the Interstellar Studies Bibliography, also known for short as the ISB for short. You will find here a comprehensive listing of activities of the interstellar community in past years and decades leading up to the modern times. The interstellar community are those people (scientists, artists, authors, journalists…) who are engaged in activities that are relevant to the subject of interstellar studies, also known as interstellar fight or interstellar travel; that is sending robotic or crewed spacecraft to other star systems. This subject is also relevant to the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI). Although the scope of the Interstellar Research Centre goes far beyond just interstellar studies and SETI, we aim here to build one of the most reliable bibliographies for the use of researchers as a service to the community.

The purpose of these pages is three-fold:

  1. To record contributions to the field.

  2. To provide correct citations, minimise errors, provide for ease of reference checking.

  3. To increase awareness in the community for the wider literature, and so promote research.

Due to personnel and time restrictions we cannot populate these pages as often as we would like, but it is our long-term goal to add further content over time.

We will expand these pages as time goes on to include more content. So far the list includes:

Note: It is our policy not to include events or groups or publications from organisations which make fantastic claims about current technology which is not consistent with the laws of physics. We encourage speculation and conjecture in research, but we also encourage rigour in analysis.

To search for any word (author name, keyword, part of title) just use the F3 function on your keyboard and it will search each page. Although note that a separate search will have to be made for each page.

Finally, if the reader notices any key texts that are missing please let us know. Alternatively, we would welcome submissions for inclusion and this especially includes things like meetings/events where not all historical activities will be known to us.
